Journey of the Black Cockatoo

This black cockatoo was the holder of the origins of fire with his spirit. Through this he would gather all the other birds to join him in ceremony and song – in which he would teach the story to those who were on their culture journey. He'd teach them how to become a fire-starter, to pass on its secret. Just like how we teach our young how to fulfil the true story of how to become a fire starter in ceremony. The circles represent each and everyone's journeys of cultural connection. The large diamonds represent the connection to each other, the spirit of the black cockatoo and the knowledge of fire that we pass on to our next generation.
