Kendra is a proud Noongar woman from Bunbury, where she grew up on Country surrounded by strong women and cultural knowledge. Taught to weave by her aunty as a young girl, she also remembers quietly watching her aunty paint—though it wasn’t until this year that she began painting herself.

Art has become a powerful way for Kendra to express her feelings and connect with culture. Each piece brings a sense of pride and accomplishment. She hopes to continue creating after her release, using art as a pathway to healing, growth, and cultural reconnection.
