By embracing participants as artists rather than ex-offenders, The Torch provides an avenue to change.
Artworks created through The Torch are part of a rehabilitation process that helps build confidence and social capital and can create pathways to economic stability.
The Torch manages the sale of artworks on behalf of all participants in the Indigenous Arts in Prisons and Community Program. 100% of the sale price goes directly to the artist.
Under guidance from Corrections Victoria, The Torch does not publicly display the surname of artists currently in prison. Artists in prison are referred to by their first name only.
The Torch has a range of Aboriginal artwork available through our online shop. Please contact our Art Coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to see a wider range of Aboriginal artworks that are available for sale.
