Chanel is a self-taught Torres-Strait Islander artist who first joined The Torch in 2017. He started painting because he found it interesting, and it made him feel good about himself. Painting has helped Chanel to overcome addiction. Chanel describes his unique technique as "Aboriginal in style but a little bit funky". Chanel is looking forward to expanding his carer as an artist, one day maybe even having his own gallery.
