Visit The Torch

The Torch is located at 146 Elgin St, Carlton VIC 3053. We are open for artwork viewings Tuesday–Thursday by appointment only.

Plan your visit

The Torch is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive space that is welcoming to all. Our gallery and offices are housed in a heritage building, and while this presents some accessibility challenges, we are actively working towards making the space as accessible as possible. If you have specific access needs or require assistance during your visit, please contact us at 03 9042 1236 or info@thetorch.org.au.

Entrance

  • Our main entrance has three steps with a handrail, and another small step to enter the building. There is a doorbell that needs to be pressed to gain entry by a staff member.
  • Alternatively, you can enter The Torch via a wide path on the left-hand side of the building accessed through a gate. This gate leads to a covered tiled porch which has one step. There is another step to enter the building from the porch. There is an intercom for visitors to enter this way.

Gallery

  • Our reception desk is on the left side of the building when you visit through the main entry. This desk has a low counter and is a good height for people in a seated position.
  • The gallery areas are spacious, light filled, and easy to move around in.

Toilets

  • There is an all-gender ambulant toilet on the ground floor.
  • The closest public accessible toilet is roughly 300m away in Lygon Court shopping mall.
