J. Harro is a Yorta Yorta man born in Albury and raised in South Melbourne’s suburbs. He only discovered his passion for painting in his older years. Painting has given him a way to connect to culture and a way to focus his energy. ‘I love painting it gives me an actual high, painting gives me a meaning in life’ he shares.
J. Harro currently works with acrylic on canvas but is wanting to expand his practice and learn new skills. He incorporates traditional ochre colours with bright contemporary colours, and his work is usually centred around animal motifs that represent his experiences in life.
