DFTC Gunditjmara people
Originally from Warnambool, DFTC is a Gunditjmara man from his ‘dad’s side’, who left school in year 10 to start working. ‘Always worked since I was about 14’, he states. ‘Been a concreter for 13 years now’.
DFTC started painting while in jail. ‘Uncle Garry Stowe started teaching me ‘n I fell in love with it’ he shares. When he ‘put brush to canvas’ it ‘just came so naturally’. Of his inspiration and style, DFTC enjoys painting animals and is drawn to the colour spectrum of purples and blues. But ‘I don’t know what you’d call my style,’ he states. ‘I just like being different’.
