Teagan Palawa people
Teagan is a proud Palawa artist who was born in Naarm (Melbourne) and spent most of her childhood on Country in Tasmania. Although she joined The Torch in 2022, it is only more recently that Teagan has immersed herself deeply in her art practice. A self-taught artist, she continues to learn and evolve her unique style through personal exploration and lived experience.
For Teagan, painting is more than a creative outlet — it’s a way to stay calm, navigate hardship, and find strength in difficult times. Her art has become a powerful source of motivation and transformation, inspiring her to make positive changes in her life.
Through her work, Teagan hopes to share a message of resilience and healing: that reconnecting with culture can guide you through even the darkest days. From knowing very little to now wanting to learn everything she can, Teagan’s journey as an artist is a testament to the power of culture, creativity, and self-discovery.
