The background circles and lines joining are hunting grounds and the lands that are cared for. Young men are sent out to bring back some grass from each area, the clever elder will chew the grass to check that there is moisture inside so that when the burn off is done the fire will not get too hot and the underground animals will not get killed. The fire will pass over achieving regeneration but preserving their food source. The white arm band represents the loss of some customs due to colonialism.
