Dreaming – Past, Present and Future

As an old Gubbi Gubbi man, I have a long beard. My future is reconnection to my Country. When I die I will become the large rock. I feel the cause of my death will be the prison system. The grave stone is marked ‘RIP AHR’, which means Rest In Peace and Aboriginal Human Rights. The moment we get locked up we have no human rights. The grave represents the prison that I am in, and the bars you can see are on my cell window from where I see myself. The rope is the life tie that the prison system has on me and won’t let me live. When I die it still won’t leave me in peace because of the mistakes I made when I was a kid. The prison system never lets you forget, and when you get out and a man is damaged, they still won’t take responsibility. The long beard is my lifeline and a sign of wizard and the connection to my teaching, to my young and to youth. Teaching is the first symbol, the second symbol is my totem and the third symbol is my family and friends I have found in my life. The fourth symbol is my mental health. The darkness of the painting is how my days and nights are all the time.
