Gathering of the Tribes


The Kurnai people are the traditional owners of Gippsland. They are made up of five major clans: Brabralung, Brataualung, Brayakaulung, Krauatungalung and Tatungalung. The diamonds at the bottom of the painting represent men’s business. The blue wren in the middle of the painting is the totem of the Kurnai tribe. The top of the painting represents women’s business at the Den of Nargun.
