24K Magic

Stacey and I were both employed in horticulture. Our jobs were to work on the garden beds within certain areas of the prison. Every morning we’d get up early to have the first claim of the radios. Whenever we heard the song ‘24K Magic’ by Bruno Mars we’d drop our shovels and dance in any kind of way for the entire song. It was a great way to keep the job fun. Because horticulture is one of the more physical jobs given to us, the other women inside would look after us. They’d bring us treats, home cooked meals and anything else we needed.
