This painting is about all of us mob coming together as one big community. All the animals and fish are our Koorie totems. The yellow is the land. This is a story of the Barka (meaning river) so it’s the River Mob or River People of the Murray Darling and represents any Mob who live by the rivers of Alcherenga (meaning the real name of Australia). The crescent shapes and the footprints represent all the people. The spirit figures are sky or lightning spirits. They made all the water in the lakes and rivers. I hope you enjoy looking at this painting.

What is artwork stretching?

Some of our paintings are painted close to the edge of the canvas, and don’t have a border wide enough for standard stretching. These artworks will be ‘strip-lined’ with a quality cotton edging. As this is a boutique process, these paintings must be stretched by The Torch and are not available to be shipped as unstretched artworks.
