A Time for Acceptance

$860

Here is a story of a gay Aboriginal man trying to fit into his tribe and find his way in life, trying to interact with his people but always being rejected by both sides because of tribal law. Not being able to dance, hunt or even gather with the women has made him feel an outcast and isolated within himself. Being fair-skinned has always been hard enough, rejected by darker-skinned others. He feels torn by both genders but not accepted by either of them. He doesn’t know or get given direction from his Elders because of his sexual preference.

The spirits represent Elders passed on but not forgotten. The dancers are dancing a dance that he can never do because of his sexual preference, but he’s always yearning to be part of it.

Being rejected by your people because of the way you live your life is so sad, and needs to change, so here is his story.

What is artwork stretching?
Your stretched and ready to hang painting will come complete with D-rings, hanging wire, and a small artwork label affixed to the back.

Why can’t I select unstretched canvas?
Some of our paintings are painted close to the edge of the canvas, and don’t have a border wide enough for standard stretching. These artworks will be ‘strip-lined’ with a quality cotton edging. As this is a boutique process, these paintings must be stretched by The Torch and are not available to be shipped as unstretched artworks.

Some paintings may also be unavailable unstretched because they have already been stretched for use in exhibitions.

How much will the artist receive?
100% of the artwork price, set before the stretching and delivery costs are added, is paid directly to the artist.

More information about artwork stretching, shipping costs and timelines can be read here.
