Farming the Land (set of 2)
This shows the country I come from, in the Western District. The white settlers thought we we didn’t use the land, but we farmed things like eels. We had plenty of eels all years round, using floodwater and different sized traps to breed eels and then catch them. This painting shows the Hopkins River and the animals gathering around the water. Everyone needs water.
Each panel measures 52 x 76 cm.
