Keeping Culture Alive
This painting represents hair, dress and dance costumes from both my mother's mob of Hela Huli in Papua New Guinea and my father's mob from Kulkalgal Nation, part of both Mugie Daudai/Op Deudai (Papua New Guinea) of the Torres Strait Islands and Kie Daudai/Keo Daudai (mainland Australia) of Cape York. The dots and lines represent spirits and the generations from my ancestors on both sides. Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags must and will always be raised high. The badges and logos are a tribute to the support for our voice and fight for bringing back what was ours. Keep our culture alive.
