Listening to Stories

Back when I was a young fella, I remember sitting down with my grandfather and listening to his stories. He would pass down knowledge about how to listen when you’re on Country. To the wind and the weather, the water, the birds and animals. How listening is just as important as vision. As you step lightly through Country, you can hear water in a creek to guide you towards it. The frogs and insects all have a story to tell, and help you connect to your Country. This is why it is important to protect your hearing and to listen and retain our culture from our Elders.
