Jurgar is what we call octopus. In the south coast of New South Wales, there were Jugars everywhere. As kids we loved catching them for mum, that was her favourite. Mum still lives on the mission, she is still getting her favourite fish and most of all her Jurgar. I remember growing up you could smell Jurgar cooking in the pot and other sea foods, the smell would be all through the house. I have been living in Melbourne for 21 years and it was cheaper going fishing than to the store.
