Bushfire Memory

I painted this picture while remembering the devastation of the bushfires that tore through our country last summer. I travelled from Victoria to the Sunshine Coast and back during that time. The landscape at the top is an image in my memory of fire-ravaged land. The red and black dot work represents each of the affected communities I passed through. The goanna is my totem animal. It is in the central west in my painting as I am a proud Wiradjuri man and my Country is central-west New South Wales.
