Firetail Wren

This painting represents how my mob got fire. The cheeky crows at Gariwerd (the Grampians) always had fun with the fire stick and the fire tail wren was jealous, so he stole the fire stick. The crows chased him but he got tired. He then passed it to Tarrakuuk the kestrel hawk, who then flew from Gariwerd down to Gunditjmara Country, lighting the land along the way. And from that day, the Gunditjmara people had fire.
