My Wall and I

Growing up I didn’t have much. I grew angry and always felt out of place, like I didn’t belong. I always wanted to do things my way and felt that family did not matter to me because of my childhood. And as time went on, it was easier to build my wall than to pull it down. Through my culture I am learning the value of family and the importance of communities. I know I’m different and if I have to be a fish living with sea turtles, then I guess it is better than being behind my wall.
